General Policy & Information:
The District of Lakeland realizes that communication is key in times of emergency.
To keep our ratepayers informed during emergency events in our community, the District of Lakeland is providing the FREE mass emergency notification system “CodeRED”. CodeRED is a high-speed emergency notification service provided by OnSolve (formerly Emergency Communications Network).
The District of Lakeland Emergency Measures Organization can use CodeRED to quickly and effectively keep the community informed about critical community alerts or emergencies where action may be required for your safety. These emergencies may impact the entire municipality, or specific neighborhoods. Examples are severe storms, power outages or wildfire. To see how the CodeRED system works, click here.
CodeRED allows YOU to tell US how YOU want to receive emergency alerts.
You can receive our messages via:
- phone call to a cell or a land line
- by text
- by email
- Or any combinations of these methods.
Emergency notifications that require your immediate attention will be delivered through telephone number 866-419-5000. Add this telephone number to your phone’s contacts. If you would like to hear the last message delivered to your phone, simply dial the number back.
