Lakeland District Protective Services

Lakeland District Protective Services, or Protective Services as we are commonly referred to, is the department that deals with matters affecting public safety including education and enforcement of the laws within the municipality. Our staff are special constables appointed and have been sworn in to their positions pursuant to The Police Act, 1990 by taking the Oath of Police. Our Special Constables work closely with the two RCMP detachments that serve the Lakeland area, as well as working closely with other law enforcement and regulatory agencies. Some of those agencies include Ministry of Environment Conservation Officers, Prince Albert Parkland Health Region Public Health Officers, Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure Traffic Officers, Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority Inspectors and officials from the Office of the Fire Commissioner to name a few. Protective Services provides service in primarily non-criminal code related enforcement. Our department focus is established by the Protective Services Board. The department priorities have included a focus on community and public safety through public engagement in education and enforcement of traffic-related offences, unsightly and nuisance property, impairment and public nuisances and disturbances focusing within public beaches, as well as parking and storage violations.

Our department staff work a variety of shift patterns that include days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Should you have any questions or want to know how to place a complaint, please call our office at any time. All calls are treated confidentially. You can contact our office by phone at 306-982-4466.
