The District of Lakeland Council is pleased to be able to allow its residents the ability to lawfully operate their golf carts within the municipality. The District has lobbied for the ability to allow this for years, and SGI has now permitted a two year pilot project allowing golf carts on our roadways, subject to certain conditions.

The application process includes completed application, attach proof of third party liability in an amount not less than $200,000, and the application fee of $25.00.

You must:
– have a valid class 7 driver’s licence to operate a golf cart on public property;
– maintain third party liability insurance of $200,000 for yourself, and all other operators; and
– be able to produce identification, a copy of insurance, or other required information as may be requested by any designated officer.
